OotM — Let the “Mind Games” Begin!

See world-wide creativity and camaraderie at its finest. The first of three days of Odyssey of the Mind’s creative problem-solving competition will begin today. Teams of students have worked all year perfecting solutions to one of five long-term problems. These teams are the best of the best and have traveled from all over the world in order to compete for the title of World Champion. Teams are scored for creativity, risk-taking and style. There will also be a secret, on-the-spot “spontaneous problem” that will add to the overall score. The most creative solutions will be on display during competition, which means extraordinary costumes, inventions, backdrops, and performances. Anyone can attend to see what it’s about, or to support a local team. There is no admissions charge.

WHEN? Thursday, May 23, 2019. Competition takes place between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. and will continue for the next two days.  An OotM guide would be happy to accompany you to various problem sites if desired.
