SFBay Interactive Coaches' Training

Welcome Odyssey Coach!

Thank you for volunteering as an Odyssey of the Mind Coach. You have volunteered to take an amazing journey as a guide to creativity and innovation.

For your convenience all training will take place online. To start you will begin with our online self-paced training you can take at your convenience and then it will be followed by a webinar run by expert volunteers. The online modules are designed to be done piece by piece or all at once, whichever fits your schedule. Please try to complete prior to attending the regional coach webinar as will be building on the information provided and will not revisit the prior material to respect everyone's time. This self-paced environment provides you more flexibility while significantly shortening the “in seat” time needed to attend the webinar.

These are the elements to the training:

Self-paced training modules for New and Experienced Coaches
- If you are a coach with 2+ years of experience but have not completed the New Coaches modules you will need to do so to advance to the Experienced Coaches modules. This assures that everyone has all the information.

Monthly newsletters from the NorCal State Association filled with current point of the season information and spontaneous update

To get your self-paced online training started follow these steps:

Go to https://training.norcalodyssey.org/
Click on your region to register for access to the online training and resource
Click Login to Enroll button
If you are already registered you simply need to login -- Follow steps to Register - if new to the site
On the left-hand side you will see the list of courses. Click on Introduction Video to Coaches Training to begin your online training.

There are two courses, new and experienced. Each of the courses will take approximately an hour to complete. You do not need to take it all at once, but do need to complete it prior to the webinar.

Register for the Regional Specific Interactive Zoom session. You only need to attend ONE of the following dates. Find which best works for you. The webinar part will be offered on the following dates:

Nov. 6th, Saturday 10:00am-11:30am
Dec. 4th, Saturday 10:00am-11:30am
Dec. 7th, Tuesday 7:00pm-8:30pm

On the next page you will be prompted to select the Webinar date and time you choose to attend. If you are not affiliated with a school, use your team name in the school field. Details about the Zoom meeting will be sent in the confirmation email.

You must be 18 years old to participate as a coach. To register you must provide the coaches’ contact information and the school information.
There is no charge for Coaches' Training.
