Omer's Award Winners
Greg Reichart and Kedly Hunt
These two people--who don’t even know each other--worked together as an amazingly synchronized team to administer CPR to a child that fell unconscious at the pool. Without their selfless efforts a World Finals participant from North Naples Middle School would not be making a recovery. They saved the participant's life using quick thinking and teamwork.
Ooh-Motional Vehicle, Division IV
Penn State University, Pennsylvania
The North Naples team members missed their chance to unload props. The Penn State team rescued them by volunteering to help move and lift the heavy props. These “big brothers” adopted the North Naples team by watching its performance and enthusiastically supporting the team throughout the week.
Ooh-Motional Vehicle, Division III
Wells High School, Maine
The Wells team noticed that the lawn in front of Memorial Union was full of litter from plastic pin bags and other trash. Instead of spending time taking part in the many activities on campus, the team donated its time to clean up the area until it was in pristine condition.
Roy Stollworth, World Finals Official
Rockford Michigan
Two team members on an international team were stranded and unable to get from Chicago to Ames. They had no place to sleep, spoke a different language, and no place to stay. Stollworth leapt into action–he worked selflessly to arrange transportation and generously paid the bill ensuring the team members made it to WF. He is always full of energy and willing to help someone in need.
