OMER's Award Winners The OMER's Award is given to teams and individuals for showing Odyssey spirit. This includes teams and team members, or anyone involved with World Finals. It can be someone who showed some type of artistic talent, good sportmanship, teamwork, or even for going beyond expectations to help others. An OMER's Award is given to anyone who serves as an outstanding example of Odyssey spirit through their words or actons. Anglo Chinese School Jr-2 Problem 2 As Good as Gold...berg Division I Nomination: For "Grandfather Ruben Goldberg's Ghost." This team member displayed awesome talent as he sang team-created lyrics. His voice was impressively pitched and his accompanying puppet was humorous and creative. Yuma Catholic School Problem 3 Le Tour Guide Division III Nomination: For showing great tenacity in competition by performing its long-term problem with five missing team members. They showed resourcefulness and teamwork -- all parts of the Odyssey spirit. Massabesic High School Problem 1 Extreme Mousemobiles Division III Nomination: Massabesic High School (team and Coaches Mary Ann Irish and Robin Gillette) for showing great courage in the face of disaster. After their close friend, son, and teammate passed away the team chose to compete and to dedicate the year to him -- making it all the way to World Finals.
