OMER's Award Winners
The OMER's Award is given to teams and individuals for showing Odyssey spirit. This includes teams and team members, or anyone involved with World Finals. It can be someone who showed some type of artistic talent, good sportmanship, teamwork, or even for going beyond expectations to help others. An OMER's Award is given to anyone who serves as an outstanding example of Odyssey spirit through their words or actons.

Forest Hills Central High School
Grand Rapids, Michigan
Problem 4 Tee Structure Division III and Problem 5 The Eccentrics! Division III
Nomination:
A few years ago this team participated in the Long-Term problem "Jungle Bloke." They further researched the Burundi African Jungle of Zambezi because of it. They felt so strongly for the children of that area that each team member decided to “adopt” a pen pal from there. The team went even further by supplying vegetable seeds to the children so they were able to learn to produce their own food. Also the team purchased honey from the children’s jungle hives that supported the building of a school. The Forest Hills Central team exemplifies the true Odyssey spirit by researching thoroughly, setting goals, and teaming up to create an effective solution that helped others.

Myers Park Platinum
Charlotte, North Carolina
Problem 2 DinoStories Division III
Nomination:
When the garage holding the DinoStories props flooded, this team quickly moved not only their own props, but every team’s props. If the team hadn’t acted so selflessly all of the props would’ve been ruined by the water, including those of teams they didn’t know! This team takes good sportsmanship and the Odyssey spirit to an entirely new level.
