SF Bay Coaches Training

We are changing the way we do the training of the coaches in the Northern California area.

Even before the COVID requirements to conduct sessions virtually, the Regional Directors were looking for a way to leverage the expertise of our regions when training coaches. That, in addition to the providing you a more interactive self-paced training was our objective. We wanted to ensure that all coaches received the benefit of the best from the Northern California Odyssey minds.

There are three elements to the training:

· We have a self-paced set of videos that explain the history and mechanics of Odyssey of the Mind

· We have a live interactive webinar with guest presenters from throughout the regions who will discuss

o Long Term Problem

o Style

o Outside Assistance

o Spontaneous

· We will have problem specific videos for each of the problem conduct by the Problem Captains.

Our training landing page is located on the NorCal Odyssey site where you will choose your region and register and begin reviewing the videos. These videos are required for both new and experienced coaches and should be viewed in advance of the live webinar. https://training.nocalodyssey.org/

The Live Webinar will be conducted at 4 times in the October-December timeframe and will include coaches from all regions in Northern California. Based on the session you signed up for you will be provided with the link to the meeting in your confirmation email. You will be required to sign-in to Zoom so that we know you participated in the webinar.

Important Information

You must be 18 years old to participate as a coach. To register you must provide the coaches’ contact information and the school information.
There is no charge for Coaches' Training. Both experienced and new coaches are required to take the entire training this year.
