World Finals Hightlights
The Odyssey of the Mind 2008 Spirit Award Recipient is Oog Hwang for
establishing Korea Odyssey of the Mind
as a thriving International Association.
He uses his own creativity as an inventor
to give back to society by funding Korea
Odyssey. This gives countless students
the opportunity to express and explore
their own creative visions.

OMER's Award Recipients
- Forest Hills Central HS, Grand Rapids, MI -- For applying what they learned through OotM to a real-life issue. The team became pen pals with a village in Africa and helped in many ways including donating food.
- Myers Park Platinum, Charlotte, NC -- For showing real Odyssey spirit and sportsmanship by moving opposing team props away from a flooded storage area thereby saving their solution.
- Burton MS, Porterville, CA -- For taking on a special project that helped a fellow student. They designed and built a prosthetic arm for Matt Lane who traveled to WF in order to present the team with the award during Opening Ceremonies.
Correction:
Due to a scoring error Monroe-Woodbury High
School was not awarded the proper place at WF. They were
actually 2nd place in DinoStories Div. 3. Congratulations to:
Alden Burke, Devon Colligan, Dennis Dunne, Brian Flannery,
Nicole Hoss, Jillian Mazzola, Christine Somers.
