Sleepy Hollow School Teams Nail Odyssey of the Mind Competition Two teams from Orinda's Sleepy Hollow School won their respective divisions in the SF Bay Regional Odyssey of the Mind competition on February 26. Now, it's on to the state championships. March 17, 2011 Fourth and 5th grade teams from Orinda's Sleepy Hollow School won their respective divisions at the San Francisco Regional Odyssey of the Mind competition on February 26 - with both teams advancing to compete in the state championships March 26. The 5th graders, coached by Janet Tarkoff and Tracy Gittings, took their division while their 4th grade classmates, under the tutelage of Bruce Duke, won theirs. Local teams have fared well in Odyssey of the Mind competition, where teams of students solve "problems" with eight minute skits that must incorporate a number of required elements. Del Rey School's 5th Grade boy's team finished second in their division. Students taking part in the Odyssey competition get no outside assistance from parents, teachers, or coaches and must come up with a script, sets, costumes and props themselves.
