Rockford students advance to state finals in Odyssey of the Mind By Matt Vande Bunte, The Grand Rapids Press After they were moved into a new Odyssey of the Mind region this year, Rockford students took first place in eight of 14 categories Saturday at Greenville Middle School in the final qualifying event before next month's state finals. Those first-place teams and a few others that placed second or third in their divisions are eligible to perform in the April 17 championship at Davenport University. Greenville, Tri-County, Belding, Kenowa Hills, Lowell and Assumption School of Belmont also advanced teams Saturday. Rockford used to compete in the Forest Hills regional, where two weeks ago the hosts qualified several teams for the state finals. A few local schools including St. John Vianney in Wyoming and Grandville Christian also advanced last week at a regional in Delton. See full scores at miodyssey.com. | More Articles | |
