Gregory students win at competition

Gregory School of Science, Math and Technology took home first place from the Odyssey of the Mind Coastal Regional competition. The team scored 39 points higher than its Division I (Grades K-5) competitors and outscored six other Division I teams, as well as teams in Division II (Grades 6-8) and Division III (Grades 9-12). This victory advances them to the state finals to be held April 10 at Wingate University.

Gregory's team, coached by Nancy Bell, won the Nature Trail'R problem. This problem, sponsored by NASA, requires teams to design, build and drive a human-powered vehicle and camper that will go on a camping trip. Team members were Grantland Adams, Mac Bell, Matthew Bowerman, Jack Cruz, Donyell Lewis, Taylor Perkins, and Dawson Williams.
