VINELAND: Local Odyssey team earns spot in state competition March 22, 2009 VINELAND -- One of the two teams Vineland High School sent to the Odyssey of the Mind re-gional competition on Saturday will proceed to the state finals in April, team coach Sheryl Rasmussen said Sunday. The two teams of seven earned third and fourth place in their respective competitions at the tournament in Vineland. The third-place team earned a high enough score to attend the April 25 state competition in Ewing. The students competed against teams from Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Mercer, Monmouth, Ocean, and Salem counties. "I'm really very happy. They did finish and they did get to compete, which some teams don't do," said Rasmussen, the Odyssey club advisor and a technology teacher in the School of Mathematics, Science and Engineering at Vineland High. | More Articles | |
